Welcome to our little world. Thanks for stopping by.
We are a small band of artistic souls located in & around New Orleans, Louisiana. Although this site has turned into a collective effort by many, it is the true heart of one person. I am that person and my name is Theresa. I have been crafting for a good portion of my life. Although, I have only been selling my work on a professional level since late 2002. I've given away a lot of gifts too. ;) I was not happy with store-bought items, so I (literally) took matters into my own hands. I have made everything from gel candles to hemp soap. I take great pride in my work. I am also grateful to have the ability to do what I love. There is something about me that sets me a little apart from most crafters I have met over the years. I am blind. I wear contacts to help me along, but live with a daily understanding that one day I am going to wake up totally in the dark. I have been told by many specialists that it is a miracle I can see at all. Apparently, most people with my initial condition go entirely blind as children. Yet I have lasted long enough to have new conditions develop. By a cruel twist of fate, I am a lucky woman. I have made several attempts to correct this problem. However, there is nothing that can be done. One day I hope that will change, but for now I am on borrowed time. Facing that, I had two options to deal with the issue. Cry or live. Being a realistic soul, I chose to live. My only regret is a lack of knowledge among the general public and a few folks undieing need to be disrespectful. I can hear the whispers and see the open stares. Honestly people, that is not a becoming thing for you. Welcome to my life and it's work. I hope you enjoy your time here. |
